Common Yet Abnormal

Every day I see men and women who put off complaints that they assume are normal. I have found that because some symptoms are common amongst others they know people assume that there’s little to nothing to be done to correct the issues. Thus, they put off seeing a healthcare provider.

25 common complaints that are abnormal:

  • Fatigue

  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep

  • Never feeling rested

  • Peak energy levels at night

  • Midday fatigue

  • Unexplainable weight gain

  • Difficulty losing weight

  • PMS

  • Mood swings

  • Decreased libido

  • Heavy menstrual cycles

  • Hot flashes/ Night sweats

  • Foggy memory

  • Anxiety/ Depression

  • Frequent infections

  • Reduced tolerance for stress

  • Craving for sweets and/ or salty foods

  • Tendency to feel cold/ hot

  • Constipation

  • Hair loss

  • Decreasing muscle mass/ strength

  • Constipation

  • Urinary incontinence, urgency, or frequency

  • Bloating

  • Frequent Urinary Tract Infections

  • Inability to reach orgasm

Whether people attribute the symptoms to aging or to post-pregnancy, many women (and men) go through periods of life where they accept symptoms as being normal or okay for them just because they are common. A good rule of thumb is that if you didn’t feel these symptoms 10, 20,30,40+ years ago then they are likely not normal and shouldn’t be your normal!

The above symptoms are a compounded list from 3 common health problems, which often times coexist to some degree: Thyroid disorder, Adrenal Fatigue, and Sex Hormone Imbalance.  Could any of these symptoms also be related to another health condition? Absolutely. However, the more of the above symptoms you are experiencing, the greater likelihood you have a thyroid, adrenal, and/or sex hormone problem.

For those of you who just checked off a good chunk of the symptoms above: Have hope.

And for those of you who have known for some time that you have a problem, yet testing has been normal: Have hope.

More testing and treatment options exist than most individuals are ever offered through traditional medicine.

You do not have to live with any of the above symptoms being your normal.
